New Services Suite Offers Solutions for a Climate in Peril

go green EV - icon1.jpgThe Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector accounts for a significant amount of the world's CO² emissions - exceeding the carbon output of the entire aviation sector.

However, ICT could reduce global carbon emissions by 15 percent come 2020.
Along with the reduction in man-made carbon emissions though, there's also an expected $946.5 billion worth in savings from energy efficiency measures.*

A Global Imperative
Communications, media and technology companies are under enormous pressure to refocus their business in the current economic downturn.  They need to review their business model to capture the opportunities that green initiatives will bring in terms of bottom-line cost savings or top-line growth.

Current economic circumstances offer companies a unique opportunity to take a proactive and structured approach in reviewing their operating models and existing infrastructure to capture carbon footprint reducing synergies.  There are numerous opportunities for companies to gain or increase market share through the adoption of ICT and energy efficient processes that will enable new business models, create new revenue streams and dramatically reduce costs.

How We Can Help
To address these timely issues, TMNG Global is launching its new ‘go green’ service offerings to help companies embrace sustainability as an organizational priority and assess the role of  ICT to support the reduction of their carbon footprint.

The new ‘go green’ service suite includes a rigorous review of a company’s current operating model and use of ICT to assess their current environmental standing; developing recommendations for reducing carbon footprint including new business and operational processes and models; improving usage of ICT; minimizing energy and paper use in technology “heavy” IT and network organizations, and identifying opportunities for creating new innovative ‘green’ products and services.

TMNG's Green Methodology

TMNG’s strategy group, CSMG, will help both communications and non-communications organizations scan for opportunities, diagnose issues and develop a business case that contemplates technologies to assess the cost/benefit implications of mitigating carbon emissions, as well as perform the necessary marketing planning for the launch of new technologies, products and services.  In addition, CSMG offers effective planning for rollout of these new services and products.

TMNG Global’s management consulting group brings to bear its in-depth operational experience within the communications space to help clients re-architect, re-define and re-design their systems and network architectures, while extracting costs in the process.  The engagements will evaluate the technical implications of systems and network migration, data center consolidation, launch of new technologies and services and prepare the organization and its mechanisms (processes, systems, networks, products and personnel) optimally for a greener future.  TMNG will define and develop energy efficient processes to maximize “electronic” interfaces and minimize manual interfaces and data handling.

The TMNG Global ‘Go Green’ methodology offers a proactive approach for companies in reducing carbon footprint, which includes the following key considerations:

  • Review of operating models for service providers: In-depth assessment of IT and network architectures and operational processes to determine “green” gaps and identify energy efficient alternatives to streamline operations and minimize energy and paper usage.
  • Review integrated ICT strategy internally and externally: Assess and evaluate new technologies to provide better training to employees, place greater emphasis on partner management, enrich the innovation and knowledge-sharing processes and securitize all confidential information.
  • Regain market share position through the adoption of ICT that will open up new business models and revenue streams:  Assess and recommend ways to transform IT and network organizations by leveraging both new and existing technologies to achieve greater economies of scale and to create new products and services.
  • Leverage interconnected worlds including social networks: Assess and develop new ways for employees to become more interconnected and informed, thus reducing the need for travel.  Developing social networks will drive large-scale group action and change and provides an ideal platform for sharing ideas on reducing energy consumption.
  • Digitization of the health sector:  The integration of ICT in the health sector will reduce paper usage and facilitates an environment where patient information and records can be managed more securely.   Furthermore, the deployment of fiber networks provides a much needed infrastructure to facilitate connectivity between patients, health institutions and doctors; thereby reducing trips/travel to the hospital and fuel costs.

TMNG Global possesses the depth of strategic and operational expertise with communications, media and technology companies to address the most complex strategic challenges, operational efficiencies and ensuring an optimized approach in helping companies achieve their objectives to reduce their carbon footprint.
