Joe Sharkey
Joe provides telecommunications clients with solutions in virtually all aspects of network operations and engineering as well as business operations. With more than forty years experience in telecommunications, he is an industry expert in business and operational restructure and reorganization, due diligence, product and services realignment, OSS/BSS specifications development and systems implementation, revenue assurance systems design and multimedia (IMS) network planning.
A history of top management positions at prestigious telecom firms such as Teltrust and Central Telephone has led to Joe’s success at TMNG Global. His achievements at TMNG include the design of a national 16-switch network for a wholesale provider of calling and prepaid cards, the design and installation of networks for all types of service providers, and serving as COO of GE’s Indiana Fiber Works. At Indiana Fiber Works, Joe led the company through a successful reorganization, secured a long-term contract with an 18-member consortium of independent operating companies (IOCs), extended the fiber network over 1,700 miles reaching more than twenty cities, and added Broadband services that generated millions in monthly recurring revenues.
Joe has worked with financial industry leaders including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Ameritech, US One and First Data Corporation. During his career, he was the founder of the first Billing and Collections Clearinghouse agreements with Local Exchange Carriers (LECs) in the U.S., managed the design for complete OSS systems requirements, and has established funding and financial practices for receivables financing of over $75,000,000.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has also completed extension programs at UCLA in Digital Telephony, Digital Switching, Packet and Distributed Data, Radio and Satellite Networks, and Local-Metropolitan and Wide Area Networks.
