TMNG Global Implements Telemetry Network for Broadband Provider

Challenge

A nationwide broadband network provider was in the process of lighting its new fiber route from Houston to Jacksonville and needed to be able to have management visibility into network operation and customer provisioning. The project involved a rollout of 22 sites, consisting of POP and OpAmp locations between Houston, Texas, and Jacksonville, Florida.

TMNG Global Solution

TMNG Global was engaged to coordinate the installation and turn up of each of the 22 Frame Relay connections for the telemetry network which supported WAN connectivity back to the client’s data center. Our team of engineers provided equipment staging, consisting of a Cisco router and catalyst switch, prior to shipment out to the remote locations. Once confirmation was received of the Frame Relay circuits being turned up, TMNG Global engineers were deployed to each of the sites to perform the installation of the Cisco router and switch, including all cabling and power setups. Upon completion of the installation, we conducted an acceptance test with the client’s NOC engineers, and then provide detailed documentation for inclusion into an operational manual.

Benefits to the Client

The client had set a very aggressive schedule to get the fiber network rolled out in order to start provisioning customers and ultimately generating revenue. With the TMNG Global engineers focusing on the telemetry network implementation, the client’s Network Operations Center (NOC) staff was able to focus on establishing the processes and procedures for supporting customers when the network went live.
