An Australian service provider was preparing for a newly deregulated, competitive environment. The client had previously engaged a major system integration firm to design and build a massive, company-wide billing system that would provide a competitive edge over other companies in the market.

The integration firm's initial task was to perform an thorough assessment of the current billing system and benchmark it against systems deployed in competitive companies. The focus of the assessment was on functionality, performance, architecture, cost, and definition of future requirements.
The integrator lacked the specific expertise to appropriately assess the solution from the standpoint of requirements, functionality, and business needs. Accordingly, TMNG Global was engaged to supplement the team with the necessary knowledge, toolsets, and skill sets required.
The TMNG Global team met with over 150 representatives of the company, including executive staff (CIO, COO, etc.), senior management, mid-management, and operational personnel to fully understand the requirements and concerns of the company. Using the Lexicon (TMNG Lexicon™) toolset, we assessed the current billing system including network provisioning and monitoring, revenue assurance, mediation, rating, billing, invoicing, payments, collections, finance, marketing, and customer care modules. Each component was meticulously reviewed and compared to best in class throughout the world.
Presented to the executive team, the detailed assessment clarified areas of weakness, gaps, and insufficient process support. The report formed the basis for driving the integration vendor’s priority deliveries in the subsequent months.

The client was impressed with the quality of TMNG Global's work and invited TMNG Global back shortly after the completion of the project to conduct a revenue assurance assessment using our QBC™ methodology. That project, incorporating much of the information from the first assessment, ultimately turned into a revenue assurance implementation across the company.
